In a large, heavy saucepan, combine the cider, cranberry juice, brown sugar, cloves, salt and cinnamon sticks. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes; do not boil. Strain and add the wine. Serve hot with additional cinnamon sticks, if desired.
Alternate Preparation:
This is ideal to make in a 30-cup percolator. Place the cider and juice in the percolator. Place the brown sugar, cloves, salt and cinnamon sticks in the percolator basket. Perk, then remove the basket and add the wine.
